The Little Mermaid

So most of us know the amazing Disney Classic movie The Little Mermaid about a young mermaid Ariel who falls in love with a human prince but her dad, King Triton, disapproves? Sound familiar? Well I bet some of you didn’t know they made a Little Mermaid 2 or at least haven’t seen it. Everyone, well most people, know the cliché about the second movie of some kind. That it’s, not as good as the first one or the characters aren’t the same, well in this case, I believe the second one is just as great!
It is Ariel as an adult, she has a baby whose name is Melody and when she was being introduced to her family of the sea an evil sea witch named ‘Morgana’ tried to steal her away in trade for the magic triton. She failed, but from that day forward Ariel did not allow her daughter into the sea until the evil lady was found. As Melody got older she grew more in love with the sea, so much so that she would swim under the giant wall to keep her in. Always being followed by the crab, Sebastian, Melodies secret was pretty much always safe with him. Melody just mostly collected sea shells when she was out at sea until one day she came across something shiny that was in a big hole in the ocean. Once back in her room after her birthday party she almost destroyed, Melody looked at the shiny object which happened to be a locket with her name on it. When she opened it a song started to play, it sounded familiar to her, like it was meant for her. It also showed a picture of the sea folk tale, Atlantica, which her mother told her was fake. Realizing the truth, Melody got upset and ran away from home, more specifically to the sea to try and figure out what the locket meant.
Rowing away in her boat she came across to fish and a tiny shark that claimed they knew someone who could tell her exactly what the locket meant, they lead to her to the evil sea witch, Morgana. Long story short, she turns her into a mermaid and convinces her to go steal the magic triton that “belonged to her” and Melody did just that but in reality she was stealing from her own grandfather also known as King Triton King of the ocean. Ariel finds Melody just in time but Melody is so upset with her mother that she gives the evil witch the triton anyway and she tries to take over the whole ocean. Melody, who feels terrible about what she had done, saves the day by stealing the triton back and giving it to her grandfather and in return Morgana is frozen in time and the wall between land and sea is destroyed and people with feet and fins reunite. Although I love the first one, the second Little Mermaid is just as good with great music like the first!
